FAQ

Thank you for your interest in Dana’s Housekeeping. Below are some basic questions that are frequently asked. Please call if you have any questions.

What is a Referral Agency?

We refer housekeeping jobs to independent domestic workers/housekeepers who are registered and under a contract with our referral agency. Housekeepers receive a 1099 at year end and are not employees of the referral agency.

Why use a referral agency rather than an employee based or a maid service?

You are in control of the chores by the priority list you give the housekeeper at an affordable cost to you. They typically use your supplies and equipment. You know best what you want used on the items in your home.

Most of our housekeepers work through Dana’s because they have the freedom to choose the days, times and areas they work in. Many of these housekeepers work part time while their children are at school, go to college themselves, and just want to work part time. We have housekeepers that have been with us for ten years and more. It’s a great fit for you and them.

We match the needs of the client to our housekeepers.

Do I have to be home for service?

You do not have to be home at the time of service. Eight five percent of our clients are at work. You make arrangements for the housekeeper to gain entrance to your home. If you would like some recommendations please call the office and we’ll help you find a solution.

It’s just fine to be there also!

How many housekeepers come to my home?

We typically match one housekeeper to clean your home. If you have a larger home we will send a team of two so we don’t tie up your entire day.

How often is and when is service available?

We refer housekeepers Monday thru Friday between the hours of 8-5. If you need a different time frame, please call us and we’ll do our best to accommodate your needs.

We provide monthly, biweekly, weekly and occasional services.

What types of payment do you accept?

Dana’s accepts cash, credit cards (Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Discover) and personal checks.

Should I leave a list for the housekeeper?

Most definitely. No one knows what you would like done better than you. We ask that you make a detailed list, also known as a priority list with the items you would like completed, in the order that you would like them performed. This list is customized by you for each visit.

Do I provide the cleaning supplies?

You know best what you like used in your home, so yes, we prefer to use your supplies. If you would like recommendations on what supplies to have on hand for the house cleaner, please call your local branch.

How often and when is service available?

Dana’s refers housekeepers Monday through Saturday, between the hours of 8:00 a.m – 5:00 p.m. If you need a different time frame, please call us and we will do our best to accommodate you. We provide monthly, bi-weekly, weekly, and occasional service.

What recourse do I have if I am not satisfied with the service?

Dana’s Housekeeping Staff and house cleaners take pride in the work that they perform. If you are not pleased with your service, please call the office immediately. We will be happy to fix it.

Will I have the same housekeeper every service?
